Work Zone Technician
The 8 Hour one-day NSC Work Zone Technician Course helps participants:
Understand and develop safe temporary traffic control strategies to maximize work zone employee and road user safety
Minimize operational costs while fostering productive work environments that comply with relevant regulations.
Participants will gain a full understanding of applicable regulations.
Planning, development and installation of temporary traffic control devices on public roadways requires the understanding of various local, state and federal regulations, which are explained in this course. The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), States that anyone use code.
Who should attend this training?
Public and private utility company employees responsible for the installation, maintenance and replacement of public utilities along public roadways
All employees of local public agencies, state DOTs and federal DOT,
Public and Private agency employees who have responsibility for street/roadway, bridges construction and maintenance.
TTC Temporary Traffic Control Design & Supervision
This 16 Hours two-day program prepares work zone supervisors to interpret, adapt and implement Traffic Control Plans. It focuses on specific job responsibilities and covers information in parts I, V, and VI of the Federal Highway Administration's Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

Temporary Traffic Control is for workers responsible for:
Establishing and maintaining traffic control devices in or near vehicle right-of-way
Keeping workers safe while in or near vehicle right-of-way
Installing signs and warning devices
Controlling traffic flow in construction, maintenance, or utility work zones
Anyone with at least one year of documented experience in work zone traffic control can attend. It's also useful for project engineers who want to understand requirements imposed on site supervisors and outside contractors. Temporary Traffic Control participants:
Become familiar with the MUTCD and learn to use it as a reference
Get the skills and knowledge to interpret a Traffic Control Plan (TCP)
Learn to verify the accuracy of existing TCPs and adapt or modify them using the MUTCDLearn to implement a safe TCP
